Introduction to Ruler Work for Domestic Machines, Westalee Design by SewSteady Quilting Templates. By Geraldine Wilkins of Living Water Quilter, LLC
Through the Westalee Design by SewSteady domestic ruler system, experienced free-motion quilters will learn how to quilt beautiful designs with Westalee’s ruler foot, the 6-piece Quilting template set and the 12” Arc template.
The first half of the class will focus on
- Westalee Ruler System – ruler foot attributes, template designs and functions
- FMQ tools for success – how to set up a machine for ruler work
- Sewing Machine setup – foot installation and tension
- Ruler work technique – template guide lines, & quilt marking guides
- Setting up your machine
The second half of the class will focus on getting comfortable – let’s get familiar with the movement and position of templates and how to use the guidelines by working with the 12” Arc template.Next, we learn how to stitch:
- A straight and curve grid
- 2 inch Circles
- Clamshells
- 6 inch spiral
- 4 inch Arcs
- Spinning Wheels n. 36
