Master Challenging Fabrics- In this two-day sewing course, you will learn to successfully sew challenging fabrics such as leather, fur, chiffon, cork, knit and more!! Discover ways to make sewing easier by using proper feet, stitches and features of BERNINA machines for precise sewing.
Learn seam and hem finishes to "Sew like a Pro" on various fabrics. We will use the Creative Consultant, built in the BERNINA machines, to guide and lead students through the course. Students will sew on 20 different fabrics and compile the fabric samples in a Technique Book.
Students will leave the class with the completed 20-page BERNINA Academy Technique Book and a BERNINA Academy collectible USB stick with inspiration, embroidery designs and projects for their next sewing session.
Kits for all the projects, lunch and snacks included! Students will be sewing on Bernina 590, 880 Plus and 790 Plus
Instructor Bio:
As a member of the BERNINA Tradeshow and Q-Series teams, Michelle enjoys interacting with sewing enthusiasts with all types of creative interests. Presenting for the BERNINA
Event Team, allows her to share her knowledge in a more hands-on way and help sewists explore their creativity and ensure they using sewing machines and overlockers that are just perfect for them! She has a passion for embroidery that she incorporates into her classes which include: embroidered quilts, home décor, overlocker projects and heirloom sewing. BERNINA Mastery and Software Clubs round out her teaching mix. Having grown up in the heart of Pennsylvania’s quilting country, Michelle has been
involved in sewing and crafts for most of her life. Since the late 1990’s, she has made the
sewing industry her career, working sewing/quilting shows and events, teaching classes and operating a wholesale drapery workroom. She has presented to groups of sewists ranging from 15 to 200 attendees. She resides in sunny southwest Florida.
