Class: Creating a Patch

Time: 9:30am - 2:30pm

Cost: $20

Technique: Creating a Patch

Creating a patch is a fun way to add embroidery to items that cannot be easily embroidered. In this class you will learn to make a patch with a sealed edge. We will use Fiber Form and Fuse and Seal to create a patch with body that can easily by ironed on to the project of your choice!

We will also show you how to add words to a purchased design.

Items we will provide: Kit containing fabric, fiber form, aquamesh and fuse n seal

Items you need to bring:

  • OESD USB Stick - Returning Students. (New Students will receive a Stick at their first class)

  • Sewing machine with embroidery unit, power cord and embroidery foot. (Or reserve a machine by calling the store)*

  • Thread snips

  • Applique Scissors

  • Seam ripper

  • Pins

  • Water soluble fabric marker

  • Tape

  • Large oval embroidery hoop

  • Wonder Clips

  • White bobbin thread
    (all the above items can also be purchased at Chestnut Ridge Sewing with your 15% class discount)

Please bring your lunch and drink.  Coffee and hot tea are available in the classroom

*If you request a machine, we cannot promise to provide a specific model.
