Longarm Sitdown Certification Training

This Class will cover the Bernina Q-16 and the Bernina Q-20 sitdown longarm students will learn the icons on the sewhead and how each works, winding bobbins, threading the machine and general care of the machine. Ellen will cover the different BSR modes and their uses. The class will finish by making a quilt sandwich and basting it together.

Upon completion of the Long-arm/Q-series certification class, and with instructor approval, you may rent time on our Bernina Long-Arm Machines. (includes Bernina Q-matic, upon request)

Rental is $25 an hour for our Frame model and $20 an hour on our Sit-Down. Upon registering for you first hour (non-refundable), you have reserved the remainder of the day. Payment for the balance of hours ($25/$20 per hour) is due upon ending your time. ( After first 2 hours, your time will be prorated by the quarter-hour.)

Bring your completed quilt top and backing, squared and easy to quilt. You will select and purchase your batting from Chestnut Ridge Sewing. Thread is provided and included in the rental fee.

Certification Instructor will be present to monitor the Q-series machines.

For working with the Q-series frame, quilters must purchase a set of Supplemental leaders from Chestnut Ridge $35.00 per set. (these can be reused)
