Working with knit fabric might have you frustrated with fabric slipping and broken stitches galore. FEAR NO MORE!! This class will demonstrate tips and tricks to make the process of sewing knits easy, fun and gratifying.
While a serger is not a necessary tool, it can make sewing with knits SOOOO much easier. The real bonus of using a serger with knit fabric is that the seam will stretch. This means that when your garment is stretched, the seam will expand with it and won’t break. You are encouraged to bring your serger to class with you or you can rent one from the store for class. Please bring your regular sewing machine with you as well.
Class will discuss the following concepts:
- Pattern and fabric selection- Reading and understanding pattern directions- Taking body measurements and how to apply them to select the best pattern size.- Fabric layout and cutting principles- Garment construction order- Sewing techniques for better results.

Skill Level: Participants MUST understand how to sew and be familiar with sewing machine operation.
