During this three-day sew-a-long, we will design a blouse together and look at methods to modify the collar, sleeves, cuffs and length to get the look and style you want. You will take a basic blouse and transform it into something exceptional and uniquely you!
This class in intended for those that have already taken my Bodice fitting class. Others are also welcome understanding that we will not be working on fit issues in this sew-a-long. Class will be focused on pattern modifications and sewing techniques. Sewing experience is required.
This class will also include a field trip to Zinck’s Fabric Outlet on the second day.
Class Overview:
Review pattern modification options and how to adjust your base pattern.
Change from a button down to a V neck pull over with a tie.
Add flounce to your sleeves
Adding flounce to the button placket
Adding length to get a duster inspired look
Trace out your pattern with your modifications
We will be traveling to Zincks Fabric Outlet the morning of the second day to look at fabric and discuss options. You will be able to purchase fabric for your blouse if you like.
Cut your pattern out on fabric
Start sewing and leave the class with a finished garment
We will share sewing techniques to achieve a professional look
